It is a kind of product which is typical of the Neapolitan area, expecially of the vesuvian area. About seventy different vesuvian apricot growings are known: Pellecchiella, Boccuccia, Carpone, Cafona, etc.. The vesuvian apricots are often used to make jams, fruit juices,yogurt, but they are very savoury even when are eaten when they are fresh.
