Founded in 1881, the museum preserves archaeological prehistoric, osteological human and animal, ethnographic collections, coming from Italy and from Europa, from western Asia and from America; a series of facial moulds of African and Arab somatic types, realised in the '30 years by Lidio Cipriani. Important is a Bolivian mummy, coming from the area of Tiwanaku ( 700 A.C. about ) and a human skeleton of the Paleolitic man of the Romanelli cave, in Puglia.
